“Gone” Official Video

Nearly a year in the making, here is the official video to “Gone”, directed by David Damen// of Arris Productions & Walter Nini, and Premiering through my friends over at Citybeat.

This is the first definitive release for my new EP “Synesthesia: The Yellow Movement” , which will be dropping later this Summer. It’s also the first domino we’re tipping over in a *very* long line of dominoes (be on the look out for new songs, videos, tour footage, shows, documentaries, etc.)

To quote my twitter timeline from yesterday, as I’m too lazy to write more today:

This video was made for people brave (read:stupid) enough to jump off the cliff and follow their dreams & passions. Leaving my job and life behind to do this as a potential career is easily the craziest, scariest, dumbest, smartest thing I’ve ever done.  The video is also a token of appreciation for all the people, places, and memories Cincinnati has given me. Thank You.

Ill Poetic “Gone” Video Cincinnati Debut Friday 4/27 @ Northside Tavern

This Friday, we’ll be debuting the video for my song “Gone” at Northside Tavern as part of DJ Pillo & DJ Apryl Reign‘s Selectas Choice series.

The whole evening will be amazing automatically, as Pillo, Apryl & DJ Rare Groove are spinning all night long. The video is really just the bonus.

Ill Po @ Mainstay Rockbar in Cinci This Saturday 11/12

I haven’t performed live since the SLAM Festival in Cincinnati way back in early August.

This is easily the longest I’ve gone without performing.
But there’s  a lot of good reasons for that. Though they won’t be coming ’til 2012.  So come enjoy the only show I’ll be doing from now up until February:

This Saturday, November 12th, I’ll be joining my good friends Soundscape for a show in Cinci @ Mainstay Rockbar.  If you’ve ever been to a Soundscape Show, you already know.

And as Far-I-Rome Productions (one of my favorite promoters in the state) is throwing this event, expect the entire evening to be AMAZING.

Brother Abdullah of Elementz Youth Arts Center Featured in ‘Emerging Cincinnati Black Leaders’

Anyone who follows this site may have seen mentioned from time to time the Elements Youth Arts Center in Cincinnati, OH. I’ve been apart of their events for the past six years and have watched them continue to grow into one of the greatest assets in the city. My good friend (from way back in the UC Daniels Dorm days) is the program director, and has basically been running the center for the past few years now.  He was recently interviewed by the Cincinnati Enquirer (my former palace of servitude) as an Emerging Cincinnati Black Leader. Ohio Takeover Cincinnati Show Review

I think I speak for everyone on this tour when I say that Cincinnati was my favorite show of the run. Personally, it was one of my favorite Cincinnati shows period. Very surreal. One of the folks I hung out with at the merch table was a guy by the name of Antonio, who’s mentor/teacher is one of my heroes Kathy Wilson (google).

He wrote a really amazing review for the Cinci News Record, and I just wanted to post it up. Appreciate the kind words!!

Classic Cincinnati Hip-Hop Show this Friday @ Play by Play

What is this picture above? True, it’s a compilation of random Cincinnati signs that say Queen City. More importantly, this was the vinyl cover to one of the greatest songs to come out of Cincinnati. (PS – If anybody has an extra copy of this vinyl,  I WILL BUY IT FROM YOU!!!!!). This was also the second time I really heard Piakhan (The First being on the Reflection Eternal debut).
